Getting real about partnerships from Business to Freelance
Running a business is hard. Running a business with a bad cofounder or partnership quickly becomes a nightmare. The “myth” of the solo-entrepreneur has sexy allure, but we all know it really takes a team to launch a successful venture or project. So, how do you find the right person or team to complement you? How do you keep things healthy when things get hard (because they will). How do you end things (with as few bodies as possible) if things go sideways?
Whether you’re a startup founder looking for (or having issues with) a co-founder, or a side-hustling freelancer trying to find the right clients (or shake the wrong ones), we are so pleased to have Jaime Roth (mediator, lawyer, and partnership expert) with us in March. Jaime used to get called in as an attorney when things had already broken down beyond repair, and people in conflict just wanted to wage war.
She realized there had to be a better way. Today, she helps entrepreneurs craft meaningful agreements, navigate difficult conversations, and confront conflict productively.
She’ll share THE critical questions to ask before getting serious in any business relationship — and if you’re already committed (but the honeymoon is over), you’ll learn actionable steps to address difficult issues while keeping things constructive.
In this talk, you’ll learn how to:
• Take action to filter out the wrong relationships in your work life
• Set boundaries and expectations to bring about the best outcomes
• Create agreements that can help avert disaster
• Get more comfortable with conflict so it doesn’t throw you off your game
• Invite the people and situations that will help you maximize your potential
