(Career) Horror Stories Returns to NYC

It’s been two years since our last (Career) Horror Stories event and we felt that it was long overdue. Join us on Tuesday October 23rd to hear our panelists share their tales of epic career failures, projects from hell and major f@ck ups.

And most importantly, they will share with us what they did to come out alive.

Our gruesome panel includes:

Liz Papasakelariou – VP, Executive Client Partner at Publicis.Sapient (moderator)

Jinal Shah – Principal, Shah Menon & Co
Jinal Shah is founder and Principal at Shah Menon & Co. Shah Menon & Co is a boutique consultancy that helps companies translate their brands for digital and e-commerce growth. The consultancy prides itself on ensuring that their work does not sit on presentations and sees it through to execution. Prior to this, she was VP of E-Commerce Marketing at Newell Brands and headed up global digital efforts at J. Walter Thompson. She prides herself on her intense focus on collaboration, breaking silos, fusing data-based decision making with intuition, and bringing a diversity of skills and points of view to problem-solving.

Krystle Watler – U.S. Head of Business Development at VIRTUE
Krystle Watler is currently the U.S. Head of Business Development at Virtue, a full-service agency born from VICE. She sits on the management team and is responsible for all business development strategies and initiatives with her incredible team. Krystle is passionate about the disciplined pursuit of less and ensuring we’re focused on pursuing the right clients for the right opportunities that will lead to culturally-relevant and business-shifting work.

Daniela Lobo – Global Brand & Digital Marketing Director, Johnson & Johnson

Alexandra Gordon – Managing Director, Matter Unlimited
Alexandra Gordon is the Managing Director of social impact agency, Matter Unlimited. She helps brands and organizations amplify and action their purpose designing solutions that help both business and humanity. Over the past 12 years she has worked with major global brands, start-ups and nonprofit including The Obama Foundation, The Clinton Global Initiative, ChildFund International, The Rockefeller Foundation, Marriott Hotels, Merck and Abbott to help them create breakthrough strategic platforms and authentic storytelling that drives action. Her work has been awarded by the Cannes Lions Festival, The Clio’s and the One Show, been Emmy nominated and is in the permanent archive of MOMA. She recently spoke at the UN in September of this year on the power of storytelling in the fight to end maternal mortality.

Christina Goldschmidt – Design Director, Accenture Bloom
Christina Goldschmidt is an award-winning thought leader in UX and customer experience with a background in anthropology and design thinking. She is a Design Director in Accenture’s Bloom venturing and incubation group where she uses research and experience design to help drive disruption and creating transformative new business models. Leveraging her deep expertise in customer and employee behavior – including the gig economy – she drives digital innovation in travel, hospitality, insurance, financial services, ecommerce and retail. In addition, her deep passion for helping women has earned her international recognition for mentoring women in tech.

Julia Sosa – VP, Senior Group Creative Director, Publicis.Sapient
Julia Sosa is a Group Creative Director in SapientRazorfish’s New York Office. She leads the Commerce & Systems Design Group as well as the New York Office Leadership team. Having started her career as an art director in traditional advertising agencies, Julia’s focus is bringing conceptual and brand thinking to experience design. She is committed to inclusivity in our industry and supporting future female leaders. She believes that creativity is an extension of empathy, determination often trumps talent, collaboration and competition can co-exist, and that being nice is supremely underrated.

So get ready to be spooked, shocked and traumatized. And most importantly, have some fun.
